Cancer mortality rate in Latin America and the Caribbean 2022, by country
The Latin American country with the highest age-standardized cancer mortality rate in 2022 was Uruguay, with 128.3 deaths per 100,000 population. Jamaica and Barbados followed, with cancer mortality rates of 116.6 and 113.3, respectively. As of that year, breast cancer was the cancer type with the highest incidence rate in Uruguay, as approximately 2,200 new cases were reported in the country.
